Sleep & Snoring Disorders
Snoring may seem like a simple annoyance, but it often indicates deeper airway issues such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). This condition occurs when breathing repeatedly stops during sleep due to upper airway obstruction, leading to poor oxygenation, restless nights, and daytime fatigue. At ENT Care Centre, we offer specialized care for snoring and sleep-related breathing disorders, helping patients enjoy restful, uninterrupted sleep.
Evaluation begins with a detailed airway examination, nasal endoscopy, and if required, a sleep study (polysomnography) to assess the severity of the condition. Dr. Shikhar Gupta identifies anatomical causes such as deviated nasal septum, enlarged tonsils or adenoids, soft palate laxity, or obesity-related airway narrowing. Based on the findings, treatment may include lifestyle modifications, weight management, positional therapy, and nasal decongestants.
In moderate to severe cases, CPAP/BiPAP therapy is recommended to maintain airway patency during sleep. When structural correction is necessary, minimally invasive surgeries like Septoplasty, Tonsillectomy, Adenoidectomy, or Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) are performed to remove obstructions and enhance airflow.
Our multidisciplinary approach ensures that both snoring and sleep apnea are treated effectively, improving sleep quality, reducing health risks, and enhancing daily energy. Patients often report improved mood, sharper concentration, and better cardiovascular health following treatment. If you or your loved ones experience loud snoring, choking during sleep, or excessive daytime sleepiness, a consultation with Dr. Shikhar Gupta can help restore peaceful, healthy sleep.
